AFTERCARE
Home Decor Care Instructions
Each piece at Studio Meinara is thoughtfully handcrafted using durable, water-based, and eco-friendly materials, free from solvents and VOCs. Hand-poured, sanded, and sealed for a smooth finish, our creations are designed to complement your home while offering functional beauty—perfect for storing jewellery, keys, coins, personal care items, and wrapped dry treats.
Each piece also features a cork bottom to protect your surfaces from scratches. With the right care, your decor will remain beautiful for years to come.
Cleaning & Maintenance
– Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust or light marks.
– For deeper cleaning, use mild soap and water, then dry immediately.
– Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may affect the finish.
Water & Moisture
– Water-resistant but not waterproof—avoid prolonged exposure to moisture.
– If water spills on the surface, dry it thoroughly to prevent marks.
– Not recommended for humid environments like bathrooms or outdoor use.
Heat & Usage
– Heat-resistant but not fireproof—direct contact with high temperatures (e.g., burning candles) may cause slight discoloration over time.
– Not safe for microwave, oven, or dishwasher use.
Handling & Storage
– While durable, pieces can chip or break if dropped—handle with care, similar to ceramics.
– Store away from direct sunlight to maintain color vibrancy.
– Use felt pads underneath if placing on delicate surfaces to prevent scratches.
Removing Surface Marks
– Light stains: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
– Stubborn marks: Gently buff with fine-grit sandpaper (800-1200 grit) in a circular motion, then wipe clean and dry immediately.
Every piece is handcrafted in our Melbourne studio, embracing the beauty of slow, sustainable craftsmanship.
Thank you for supporting handcrafted artistry at Studio Meinara.
Wood Wick Candle Care Instructions
Our candles are crafted from sustainable Cocosoy wax to offer a clean, natural, and calming experience.
Free from fragrances, they are designed to support those with allergies, sensitivities, or respiratory concerns while maintaining the cozy ambiance of a traditional candle. Fragrance-free candles help reduce indoor air pollutants, making them a great choice for those who prefer a pure, smoke-free burn without triggering headaches or irritation.
Our wood wick candles are made for an enhanced sensory experience with a gentle crackling sound and a long-lasting burn. Follow these care tips for the best performance:
First Burn
– Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first use to prevent tunneling.
Wick Maintenance
– Trim the wick to approximately 1/8" (3mm) before each burn to maintain an even flame and reduce smoke.
Safe Placement
– Burn on a level, fire-resistant surface, away from drafts, vibrations, and flammable objects.
Burn Time
– Limit each burn session to 2 hours at a time.
– Discontinue use when only 1/4" of wax remains in the jar to prevent heat damage.
Storage
– Keep candles away from direct sunlight and heat sources when not in use to maintain wax integrity.
Pro Tip
– If trimming the wick becomes challenging near the end of the jar, a large nail clipper can help make the process easier.
Safety First
⚠ Never leave a burning candle unattended.
⚠ Keep out of reach of children, pets, and flammable materials.
Enjoy the warm glow of our handcrafted candles while embracing a cleaner, allergen-friendly atmosphere.
Repurpose Your Candle Vessels
Our thoughtfully designed candle vessels can be transformed into versatile pieces for your home once the candle has burned out.
How to Clean Your Vessel:
- Pour boiling water into the vessel and allow the wax to rise to the surface as the water cools.
- Remove the remaining wax with a spoon, discard it, and wipe the jar clean with a warm cloth or paper towel.
- Let the vessel dry completely before repurposing.
***If persistent stains remain after cleaning, try using a fine-grit wet/dry sandpaper, such as 400/600-grit, to gently sand the stained areas under running water. Apply light and consistent pressure to prevent grooves or surface damage. Once finished, wipe away any residue with a dry cloth. Use this method occasionally to maintain the quality and durability of the vessel.
Ideas for Reuse:
- Tealight Holder: Add a soft glow to any space.
- Desk Organizer: Perfect for pens, pencils, or stationery.
- Plant Pot: Ideal for small plants or flowers.
- Bathroom Storage: Hold cotton rounds, Q-tips, or other toiletries.
- Makeup Organizer: Use for brushes or self-care essentials.
By following these care and repurposing tips, you can extend the life and functionality of your Studio Meinara pieces while embracing sustainable living.
Stone Collection Care Guide
because beautiful things deserve gentle care
Each piece from our Stone Collection is slowly handcrafted using a stone-based material inspired by bathstone and granite. Designed to look and feel like natural stone, every item is sealed for extra protection using an eco-conscious, water-based sealant.
Made to last, but like all handmade objects, it loves a little care.
What makes it special:
- A smooth matte surface with subtle texture and natural variation.
- Hardwearing and impact-resistant, with real stone particles for extra durability.
- Can handle moisture and temperature changes—perfect for indoor styling, and safe for outdoor use in covered or gentle environments.
- Helps resist stains and moisture, while keeping the natural feel intact.
Water-based, solvent-free, and low in VOCs—kinder to the planet and your home.
How to care for your piece:
1. Use a soft, dry cloth—microfibre is ideal.
2. For marks or spills, wipe with a damp cloth and a tiny bit of mild soap if needed. Avoid harsh cleaners.
3. It's strong, but dropping it on hard surfaces may cause chips or cracks—especially around edges.
4. Your piece is sealed and water-resistant. It’s fine near sinks, plants, or in damp areas. But unless it’s specifically designed as a water feature or planter with drainage, avoid keeping it filled with or submerged in water long-term.
5. It can be styled outdoors, but avoid direct exposure to rain or frost. A covered porch or shaded nook is perfect.
What to avoid:
- Abrasive sponges or scrubbing
- Solvent-based or acidic cleaners
- Long-term submersion in water
- Direct sunlight for long hours (may cause slight fading over time)
Every Studio Meinara piece is one of a kind—thank you for making it part of your space, and for caring for it with the same thoughtfulness we put into creating it.
